Recipe Review- Union Square Cafe Bar Nuts

Since I posted about a snack yesterday (popcorn) I thought I would share a recipe review for another snack, Union Square Cafe Bar Nuts. I found the recipe on Food Network’s website. They looked so delicious when I saw them on TV that I had to make them for myself, and I am glad I did. This is one of the best homemade snacks I have ever had. I made a double batch over Christmas and we snarfed them down. They were a bit pricey to make, so  I save them for a special treat. I can tell you that they would make an impressive addition to any party.

  • 2 1/4 cups (18-ounces) assorted unsalted nuts (I used pecans, almonds, pistachios, and cashews)
  • 2 tablespoons coarsely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Maldon or other course sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
Toss the nuts in a large bowl to combine and spread them out on a baking sheet. Toast in the oven until light golden brown, about 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the rosemary, cayenne, sugar, salt and melted butter.
Thoroughly toss the toasted nuts in the spiced butter and serve warm.
