In depth ramblings about cooking, homekeeping, and whatever else I decide to write about.
My daughter doesn’t always enjoy school lunches, and she gets sick of cold lunches from home. This year, I bought her a thermos so she could take her favorite leftovers to school and have a hot, home cooked lunch. The only problem we had is that by lunch time, the food was lukewarm. So, I came up with the idea of pouring hot water into it to pre-warm it before adding her food. It worked like a charm. Here is what I do:
Take 1 cup of water and place it in a microwavable container (glass measuring cups are perfect for this.). Heat for 3-4 minutes. Pour hot water into the thermos and put the lid on. Wait 3 minutes. Pour out hot water. Add heated food. The food stays piping hot for about 7-8 hours.
* I know that this is probably not my original idea, but I wanted to share it anyway.
